General Background... My name is Jeff Clauson and the purpose of these paragraphs is to give you a little bit of information about me and I in turn hope to learn something about you in the future.I was born in Sioux Falls, SD, but my family moved to Larchwood, IA when I was in elementary school.I have an older brother who lives in Wisconsin and I have a younger brother who lives in South Dakota.I have been married for 18 years and I have two daughters.My family is shown in the photograph to the right.My oldest daughter is in high school and my youngest daughter is in middle school.I spend as much time with my daughters as I can because they will be grown up before I know it.
Educational Background... I completed High School at West Lyon Community High School in 1989.I graduated from South Dakota State University in 1995 with Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering, in Electrical Engineering, and in Engineering Physics.I also graduated with a Mathematics minor.I have been a practicing engineer for the last 14 years; however, I desire to teach.I had thought about the ministry and teaching in high school, but ended up an engineer that has a passion for teaching the next generations of mathematicians.
Hobbies and Pastimes... My family and I enjoy being outside.We like to go fishing, camping, and hiking.The below photograph is from a trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton National Park.We also try to find time to ride bikes, play softball, and go geocaching.
Church Life… I belong to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, LCMS.My family and I attempt to be as active as possible in our church family.I enjoy teaching Sunday School (typically 5th - 12th grade) and 5th - 6th grade confirmation.I am also privileged to lead a home Bible study on occasion.I have been blessed to have gone to Guatemala on 3 occasions on medical and construction mission trips.A mission trip is an experience that I would recommend to anyone.
